Additional lore and background lore

Is there any rule to allow it to also work on your background lore?

We are currently ruling that the skill feat could also work on the background skill, but I couldn't find anything in neither the CRB nor the errata.

Ps: I am aware about the "gnome obsession" ancestry feat.

We may soon have, from the GMG, a system to learn additional lore fields using downtime. At least speculation suggests this might be the case.

Seems like a perfectly fine house rule. Alternatively, pick a background with a Lore you only want to stay Trained in, and then use Additional Lore for the Lore you really want.

Lores from Downtime sound great. Languages through downtime would be awesome too. Those systems in Society would be amazing and fix a few of my gripes with how 2E feels in Society. Only 2 years for them to approve it...
