I've just learned admit the rings of summoning affinity from the ACG. There are a dozen variations out there. If I'm a class that summons monsters, are any of the monsters I can add from the ring worth investing the money and taking up a slot?

There’s some good options. The harbinger at 3rd level can cast 3 cure light wounds at caster level 6, so that’s 3d8+15 healing, which is as much healing as cure serious can ever do, and then you still have all of the other things it can do. The movanic deva can spam a large array of status removal and has 7 casts of cure serious wounds.
The point against the rings is that most of those summons could be picked up with other options like the expanded summon monster feat.
