I'm prepping to run an encounter from RotRL and the map is drawn so there are smaller pillars centered on grid intersections. If you need to see what I'm talking about google Lamashtu's shrine map and it should be the first image that comes up.
Would these count as obstacles for 2x movement in that square. Would moving between two of these pillars be enough to count as squeezing for a medium creature?

The pillars seem small enough so I'd probably just go simple and say no diagonal movement through a pillar(no other movement restrictions). The double pillars seem to block about 1' of the 5' square from what I can see, so I wouldn't assign any movement penalty. I would give cover if an attack would come from more than a 30ish degree angle though a pillar. Maybe partial cover* at 15-30 degrees.
Unless they are directly ahead I would probably still give partial cover* on the double small pillars.
Partial Cover: If a creature has cover, but more than half the creature is visible, its cover bonus is reduced to a +2 to AC and a +1 bonus on Reflex saving throws. This partial cover is subject to the GM’s discretion.
