Ring of wizardly and other spellcasters.

Advice

Hi there,

With an arane spellcasting dedication a character is allowed to use ring of wizardly, which drwstically increases his spells.

What is the counterpart for primal, occult and divine?

A lvl 12 character could have, let's say with bredth, could have, with a lvl 3 ring

2x lvl 1 spells
3x lvl 2 spells
3x lvl 3 spells
1x lvl 4 spell

The rest will have

2x lvl 1
2x lvl 2
1x lvl 3
1x lvl 4

The difference is neat.

I couldn't find anything, so I am considering giving variants for all spellcasting.

As far as I know there is nothing for the other traditions, but I doubt it'd break the game to grant a Ring of Occultism or Primalist's Ring or what have you.

Same goes for giving things like the Archmage's Robe to other traditions as well. I don't think it'll break the bank, and some, like a robe for divine spells, might arguably be less powerful because the divine spell list does less overt damage.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think the whole point is that arcane research is learning about Magic itself, so arcane items lend themselves better to improving spell casting. Primal, divine, and occult items will do other things better.

I feel the same.

Also it would be only in terms of slots and discipline item bonus proficiency.

However, since everyone of them is different and shares some spells with the others, it is hard to get why they only managed to buff the arcane path, without thinking about a generic ring, or more specific rings.

In a dedication scenario, this only leads to advantages for the arcane spellcaster.

On the other hand, in a pure spellcaster scenario, it will be the same, apart from the fact that the level of those items couldn't let them a priority for the spellcaster ( by taking s lvl 3 ring of wizardly, which is lvl 12, the caster could consider that he will be hitting lvl 7 Soon, and instead of 2 extra lvl 3 and 1 extra lvl 2 spells he could invest in something way better ).
