Monk unarmed strike + enforcer = free demoralize check?

Rules Questions

Enforcer (Combat)
You are skilled at causing fear in those you brutalize.
Prerequisite: Intimidate 1 rank.
Benefit: Whenever you deal nonlethal damage with
a melee weapon, you can make an Intimidate check to
demoralize your target as a free action. If you are successful,
the target is shaken for a number of rounds equal to the
damage dealt. If your attack was a critical hit, your target is
frightened for 1 round with a successful Intimidate check,
as well as being shaken for a number of rounds equal to
the damage dealt.

So basically I'm wondering if a Monks unarmed attack being considered a manufactured weapon would work with this feat?

I think it does, but this feat seems to be balanced around the -4 to make melee weapon attacks non-lethal, which a Monk would ignore, so I could see why it might not be allowed.

Opinions?

Yeah, a monks unarmed strikes are melee weapons. It works. It's needed. It's nice.

EDIT: Remember though that Charisma is a dump stat for a monk (the only real dump stat).

Yep & my monk dumped it, but he has taken Intimidating Prowess as a feat. :)

I hate not having social options, & there is not much to take as 1st level feats for a monk(human), this could be fun.

Yeah! It really fits with the debuffer/battlefield control role, and doesn't rely on flurries either, so I think you'll enjoy it.

I was thinking the best part was that it could be used with flurry, ;-)

I think it'll round out my character nicely, and the -2 to my shaken enemy's attacks will be really nice as my AC is low.

At first level my combat options are looking good:

So, tactically if I'm 0-5' away from an enemy I can 5'step, flurry, & demoralise.
at 10-15' I can 5' step & flurry with shuriken.
at 20-30' I can close & grapple (improved grapple)
at 35-60' I can move closer to open up other options and intimidate as a standard.

Oh, of course that's great, I just meant that it's nice that it gets abilities that don't rely on full attacks.

You also have Cornugon Smash, which gives you free Intimidate checks on opponents you hit with Power Attack - although making opponents shaken for a large number of rounds (damage dealt) is MUCH more powerful than the regular Intimidate check.

To add to your monk's "intimidating prowess", you also have other feats which offer great synergy:
- Shatter Defences (shaken opponents are flat-footed - which is great by itself) <- numerous prerequisites, too bad
- Medusa's Wrath (two more attacks at full BAB against flat-footed opponents) <- also numerous prereq, but is a monk feat

That's true, I look forward to using it in conjunction with AoO... or while grappling.

I hadn't seen Cornugon smash, nice catch! Though it would only be better then enforcer when opponents are immune to non-lethal damage, might be too situational for this character. Then again I wouldn't have to use unarmed strike which opens up possibilities too...

I think I'll plan to take Cornugon smash once my brass knuckles really outshine my unarmed attack in later levels, combat doesn't last that many rounds then in any case.

Thanks!

PS I really like Shatter Defences too, but as you say prereqs aktbt!

where do I find the Cornugon Smash rogue talent? i have APG and core book with rogue in it but can't see it.
