Implosion, and other spells which have changed traditions

Rules Discussion

I was looking through the divine spell list earlier and was surprised to find that "Implosion" is no longer part of it, now an arcane/primal spell when in 1st edition it was a Cleric exclusive.

I know there are a few spells which have expanded to other traditions since the previous edition (such as fireball now being available to Druids), though has anyone else found other spells that were available to a class in first edition, but are now no longer part of that class's tradition?

Here's just a few I noticed, doing a complete list would probably take much longer than it is worth.

Heroism is gone from Arcane, but available for Divine.

Finger of Death and Wail of the Banshee are also gone from Arcane.

Obscuring Mist, Paralyze and Wind Wall are no longer Divine.

Foresight is missing on Primal.

Soundburst is no longer Occult.

This is a good list, though Sound Burst is still on the Occult list. Were you perhaps thinking of a different spell?

Yeah, that was a mistake. I quickly went through my spell list containing all CRB spells and checked which seemed odd. Sound Burst is of course still on the Occult list. I was looking at Sunburst and just thought I was looking as Soud Burst. My bad.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
