Rage and armors

Rules Discussion

Hi there,

https://2e.aonprd.com/Classes.aspx?ID=2

I read that in order to rage you need not to be already Raging or fatigued.

It doesn't mention anything about armors.
So eventually a barbarian could wear a heavy armor and rage?

Yes, but they wouldn't be proficient in it, so their AC would suck. It's fine if they MC something that gives them heavy armor proficiency.

Thanks fuzzy

They're never going to be great with heavy armor specifically (at least not without archetyping right now), but sure.

Most Barbarians will have to rely on armor, as only Animal Instinct can do without.
Light or Medium is a matter of preference, and Heavy is not a class proficiency, so subpar as option.
At least until we get more heavy armored options, be they archetypes or feats, should that ever happen. PF2 could do an Armored Hulk adaptation with just a few feats, at best, though I don't know how good an idea that would be.

Yeah I mostly meant as a dedication feat foe a champion to be honest.

I won't be relying on dex because of full plate armor, and the possibility to rage in full is not bad, trading 2/4 dmg per 1 ac.
