Hey everyone,
In the Dragon’s Demand Storybook on page 23, there’s a random scenario called „Seek the Treasure“. It tells me to „add 3 wildcards“.
However, I only have 2 wildcards: „The Perils“ and „The Onslaughts“.
Am I supposed to add 3 powers on any of those cards (is that what the term „wildcard“ actually means? Not the cards themselves, but the powers on them?)
Or am I supposed to have more than these two cards in my core set?
If the latter would be the case, how would I know how many powers to apply on each of the cards? Applying every single power on 3 wildcards would be suicide, wouldn’t it?
Generally, which powers do I choose? Is it totally up to me?

The physical card lists a variety of modifiers/effects, and each one is "a wildcard", as you surmised.
There's 3 physical cards in total - 2 with the Core Set, and an added one in Curse of the Crimson Throne. Since each list 6 Wildcards, that's 18 possible effects.
Technically you may choose whichever Wildcards you want since it doesn't say "random" anywhere. However, it is my opinion (as well as the opinion of most people I've played with) that whenever you add Wildcards (whether for difficulty increases or because you're told to) you should pick a random one. There's 6 wildcard effects per physical card, so you can randomly pick a card and then roll 1d6.
All in all, it's up to you. Both difficulty increases and random scenarios are "just for fun" things, for the most part - you choose how you want to handle Wildcards. I will still recommend randomly picking them, though, and if that's too hard then trying again by selecting the least threatening.
See the Rulebook, Page 18...
Add Wildcards. To add wildcards, place 1 or more wildcards on the table and apply any number of powers from them. Mark the chosen powers with a marker. Each one you add increases the challenge by a small amount—requiring perhaps a few extra explorations, inflicting the loss of a few cards either directly or through expenditure. You may choose wildcards that you particularly enjoy, but consider adding random wildcards for additional challenge.

The new random scenarios in Curse refer you to the random scenario rules on page 22 of the Dragon's Demand storybook, which say "When setting up this scenario, whenever you are instructed to choose something, either select it yourself or choose it randomly."
(We were inconsistent about using "add" and "choose" in the printed storybook, but that has been corrected via two FAQs—all of the random scenarios should tell you to "choose" wildcards. So either select them yourself or choose them randomly.)
