It's really stupid, but they don't. I have a 12th level Aerokineticist who hurts himself with his own wall of electricity. Personally, since theyre already taking burn damage, I think they should have resistance to their own element. But, sadly, there are no such talents. The only close thing is what blahpers mentioned where Water/Fire kineticists can get endure elements. Now, if you're in a home game, your GM may be nice enough to say that your kinetic infusions and talents cant harm you since you're already taking burn damage, but no such luck in PFS play.

The listed resistances work off the amount of burn you are currently subject to, so it's limited.
Note that at 9th level a Kineticist gets 5d6 plus mods damage for a simple blast, and 10d6 plus mods damage from a composite blast. The later will penetrate pretty much any elemental resistance you come across, including your own.
The moral to the story is be carefull where you place area affect blasts / walls / etc. Just like a wizard with area affect spells.
