Question about magical attacks in the Bestiary

Looking over the Jinkin, it says that its attacks with the shortsword are magical, but it's listed as having an ordinary shortsword in its items... is this a typo? Or did I overlook something?

It's really there to allow it to attack creatures or players that may be immune or resistant to non-magical damage. If I'm not mistaken, it also allows for the weapon to be detected via detect magic.

The weapon isn't magical but the creature makes magical attacks.

Same with pugwampis.

Remember than npcs aren't built with character rules, it lets designers do different things with creatures.

Presumably they imbue their weapons with some magic when wielding them.

The Kraken also says its tentacle attacks are magical, which left us scratching our heads when a player had Freedom of Movement on themselves and got grabbed a kraken. The spell says "...they automatically succeed...unless the effect is magical", so I had to figure out if that applies to the grab as well.

I don't think that's a magical grab.
