Sustain a Spell and Flaming Sphere three times

Rules Discussion

Can an arcane or primal spellcaster Sustain a Spell three times during their turn to ping flaming sphere damage three times?

It has been brought before that the restrictive language has been removed since playtest.

Now, if this is a typo (it does make it quite better than any other same level blast and makes it strictly better than spiritual weapon now) or deliberate, we don't know since no developer has offered input.

But raw, you can.

Personally, I think it's a typo, and will rule it as such in my games. Up to 9d6 per round, for 10 rounds, without MAP, with the ability to split it over multiple targets, is WAY above any other 2nd level spell.

I don’t think it makes sense for any spell to be sustained more than once per round, except for maybe fringe cases.

I think it’s a failure to copy paste, so a typo. All the other spells I can think of specify that the extra effect only happens on the first sustain action each round. I don’t see why this spell would be different in such a way that makes it so much better than anything else of its level.
