Human starting languages

Rules Discussion

The Exchange

It looks like humans should start with Common and the regional language before intelligence modifiers based upon the Ezren pregen (and it owuld make sense that you start with your birth language)

While creating Ezren in TOS 2nd CORE edition, I came up with the same issue... Ezren level 1 pre-gen is listed as knowing:

Human ancestry: Common

INT: Draconic, Dwarven, Halfling, Undercommon

Extra (?): Varisian

So that's 4 languages for his +4 INT bonus, and "Varisian" is added as well... The Human entry (Core Rulebook page 55) does not say that the human character actually gains a regional language....

Is this an errata?
THANKS for clarifying!!

There is still-unofficial errata that humans are supposed to get one bonus language for free. Not sure what it's supposed to be drawn from other than appropriate regional languages.

Presumably, it would be the same sources as the bonus languages for high Int (common plus any regional that ethnicity grants access to).
