Rise of the Runelords 1e or 2e?

I wanted to get some input. I am going to be starting a Rise of the Runelord campaign in the coming days / weeks. I am wrestling with whether or not to run it as is under 1e or to run the Rise of the Runelord campaign using 2e rules and character creation.

I am wondering, from any of the developers or play-testers, how difficult is it going to be, or even possible, to convert all the old wonderful 1e APs to 2e?

Anyone want to help me out with a thought or opinion? Much appreciated

Several people on this board, including some devs had been running old APs with the new rules, as I understand it you can pretty much convert it on the fly except for the monsters, which you will have to look up in the 2e bestiary and possibly substitute for.

Take the Sinspawn for example..integral parts of the story...I don't know if they are in the 2e bestiary or not...but must be some kind of crunchy way to convert monsters to 2e

Bestiary has got you covered, with types of Sinspawn which are not even in Rise (I think they're from Return.)

I looked at the Playtest bestiary and even that had all of the book 1 Rise monsters in. It seemed like they fully expected people to want to play it

From what I have heard treasure is the hardest thing and will sadly need completely re-doing

As it stands my group really want to play Rise and I really want to play 2E. My current proposal is to:

- finish Book 4 of Hells Rebels (which could still take months as the final part looks like a monster),

- try out 2E on Plaguestone (subject to change as that may take longer than I would like)

- offer them the choice of which edition to play Rise under

So I may be one of those people looking to convert but potentially not even this year (yikes). So in my case people might have already worked on this already (I can hope...)

Out of interest where can I find the information on Resistances on AON? I can't fathom what Resist Mental 5 could possibly mean as there isn't mental damage that I am aware of...

There is. It's an existent but uncommon damage type. The Daze cantrip deals some, for example.

Spoiler:
There are wrath sinspawn in book 1 in the Catacombs of wrath and there are armored wrathspawn later in runefore if I remember correctly.

They also appear in shattered star(which is part 2 of the runelords trilogy) and as you said there are some in return which is part 3 of the trilogy.
