Playing Blessing of the Spy with other Blessings

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

When you discard Blessing of the Spy to explore, it blesses your check for that encounter. During this encounter can someone play another blessing to bless, even if it normally can’t be played freely? My take is that it should be fine since Blessing of the Spy was not played during that step but wants to clarify though.

Correct; same as if an ally is giving you a bonus during an exploration; it's not the same as having played an ally.

This also turns up with The Mute Hag harrow blessing.

I was told in thread that "a check being blessed" is not the same as "a check counts as if a blessing has been played on it", so you should be fine.

Exploring with the Spy should be no different than displaying a spell that adds 2d4 Fire to all encounters this turn - it's just a lingering effect that you apply (and you don't even get to chose if you're using it - so there can be no argument you're still playing the card) and as such does not count against your encounter card limits.

Absolutely, there is no limit on how many times a check can be blessed. The limit is just one (non "freely") blessing played DURING the "attempt a check" phase.
