A lesser talisman is a single use item. Once it is used it crumples to dust and is gone. A greater talisman can be used once per day forever.
I guess I'm not asking the question correctly. Once the triggering event activates the talisman how long does it stay activated for that day?
These amulets are imbued with magic that allows them to protect their wearer against a very specific danger. A talisman triggers automatically as soon as the listed condition is fulfilled. Although talismans occupy the neck slot, up to three talismans can be worn on one cord or chain. Wearing multiple talismans in this way offers a greater variety of protection, but a wearer can benefit from only one talisman’s effect at a time. If another talisman would be triggered while its wearer is under the effect of another talisman, that talisman is not triggered and can still be used later.

Treat it as a lesser talisman that rebuilds itself each morning. Edit: every type of talisman has its own rules for event duration, so there is no general answer except “same as lesser”
Now that I'm reading the wording again I think that is how it works.
I thought the longevity meant for a longer time that day in addition to never breaking.
Thanks everyone.

The effect lasts as long for a greater talisman as it would for the lesser talisman; the only difference is whether the talisman crumbles to dust afterwards.
The talisman effects all either specify how many rounds they last or are inherently over-and-done. If it lets you roll a second saving throw when you failed your first, then that's the whole of the effect. Once you roll that second save, regardless of the outcome, the talisman crumbles (if lesser) or goes dormant for the day (if greater).
