Magus and Unchained Action Economy...

Advice

Silver Crusade

Anyone have any advice for using a Magus with the Unchained Action Economy? A lot of their tricks seem to rely on getting extra attacks and I'm wondering if this is just as effective when you have three actions instead of one and one.

Any devious, evil, super OP trick ideas would also be very welcome. My party is about to face a Magus and every time I only have a single spellcaster encounter they get killed in by round two. I have resorted to using things like minions and other creatures in fights with spellcasters, but this is supposed to be a climatic boss battle where this Magus has already had their minions killed and he must take on the party alone.

Thanks in advance for any advice you have.

Casters aren't really good with unchained action economy they lose out on actions.

Casters in general and classes which made good use of swift actions got really screwed over by unchained action economy.

Overall, IMO, unchained action economy wasn't really good for anyone.

You will need to house rule what type of action it is to use spell combat.

We play it as
2 acts 1 spell and 2 attacks at 0/-5. then you can use your 3rd act to move or attack at -10 or move or attack before spell combat and gain a -5 to hit.

We also play with 3 acts + 1 swift action + some free action.
