Rules Questions

Hi. So, i'm reading the book and see in one section that the phantom is able to wear armor and use items when fully manifested. Not specifying if it's ectoplasmic or incoporeal. But later it states that the phantom can not wear armor. Which is it, or is it up to the DM? I'm guessing DM, but I'm curious to the forums opinion. THanks

According to a designer post, they aren't supposed to be able to wear armor.

If you're interested in RAI phantoms aren't supposed to be able to wear armor.

I figure this is a thing that would get addressed in errata if Occult Adventures gets a second printing.

I didn't realize that never got technically errata'd!

I admire your optimism in thinking there's a hope that Paizo will ever even give PF1 the time of day again.

Liberty's Edge

For PFS I’m assuming no armor. It would be a pain anyway, sliding off whenever you make your phantom incorporeal or share consciousness, and requiring a few minutes to don when you make it ectoplasmic again.

Speaking of which, I’ve been wondering how much a phantom weighs in ectoplasmic form.

The usual Pathfinder descriptions of ectoplasm have it being very dense, making things comprised of ectoplasm heavier than they normally would be.
