I'm sorry for my poor english and - maybe - for repeating topics other people have yet proposed.
In my point of view "resonance points" are in general a good idea because make a progression of the power/powers (add value) of the PC related with some math formula. In the 3.5 when you reached level beyond the 10th the poor rules about magic items ruined IMHO the game because too many magic items meant that the balance of classes were not the centre of the game.
It's important to create a system where ALL kind of PC powers (add value) are related to levels. ALL!! without exception. This is main general idea..
So great:
- That the PCs growth with general and skill feats. 
- That races growth with ancestry feats. 
- Obiously that the classes growth. 
- I'm sorry that the background do not level up. I know that the word "background" means something in the past, but if I choose an Acolyte this means that I want my PC related with a faith/church system. If I choose a Sailor i want that my pc is related with all kind of sea explorations and so on. So there will be not a huge problem to enlarge the frame of the background with something that grows as well. And maybe that I'm allowed to choose more backgrounds in some point of my levelling (maybe related to the adventure I have done)
In the end good that the use of magic items grows.. So for me better "Resonance points" that are related to levels that the "resonance test rules" (PZO2100-ResonanceTest) where you have 10 points full stop.
When i say "Everykind of magic item" i mean that also magic armors and weapons have to be related to resonance points. In my idea if you have a +3 weapon every morning you have to vest it with some RP. One for +1.. Every morning you can decide to vest the +3 weapon with 1RP and it became similar to a +1 weapon. Or with 2RP and it became similar to a +2 weapon or a +3 weapon. You cannot obsiously put 4 RP in a +3 weapon. ^__^.
That the flaming ability of the weapon can be activated in the morning with a RP. Thi rules put martial PCs at the same level of spell related PCs..
The other resonance point rules are something good but they have to be fixed with in mind the "everything that gives powers/add value (not the role playing parts) have to be math related in some kind of a formula!

            Resonance is dead. Paizo tried a few things, there was a lot of negative feedback, they're removing it forever.
For what is worth, "10 points full stop, now invest 1 point for each + an item has" is awful. +5 weapon and +5 armor? Well, there went all of your resonance. Sucks to be 20th, dunnit?
Actually, the feedback was more akin to "meh, I guess?".
That's worse than negative. Negative means it impacts, and you can build upon it (people don't like dying or being poisoned, but there can be excitement built upon it). "meh" means it's a waste of design space.
