Hey All, just checking with everyone. Are your pawns splitting apart? My Rise of the Runelords & Monster Codex pawns, over the last two months, have been splitting apart. The cardstock is coming undone. They have been on a shelf in my bedroom in a box so I don't see how they could have gotten exposed to elements or have been used too much to where they ware out.
I know that these are old pawns but I didn't think they had a shelf life on them. And now there is the fact that you can't find these anymore (unless you buy them used on Amazon for nearly a grand) it really makes me rethink buying anymore pawns. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't discontinue pawns & I can re-buy them but I guess now I am just outta luck.
Let me know if anyone else has this problem & maybe the newer pawns can be made outta sturdier stuff.

In my experience, this only happens when there is water involved. If you say they've been prevented from being exposed to the elements, I'd check the humidity level of the room in question. Some climates, or some household that have unique situations, can be less hospitable to coardboard/glue lifespans.

Normally I would agree but I have almost all the pawns they have made & it's only the Rise of the Runelords & the Monster Codex that are messed up. Not any other. Not only that, I had the Runelords set almost since they first came out. Why did it just start to come apart now. I bought Skulls & shackles at about the same time & it's just fine. I will move the rest of my pawns somewhere else just in case tho.
Just in case, I hope I wasn't coming off as a rude person. I was just concerned & curious if someone else had a similar problem.
Can't wait til 2e. Later

I've never heard of that happening. If I was you I'd email some photos to customer.service@paizo.com.
I suspect you're right that being so old there won't be anything they can do, but maybe they opened a few sets to replace individual sheets. You might be in luck (?) Can't hurt, anyway.
