Hey everyone,
So, I ran sort of a mini-run through of a scenario. I found out that I will need to run with two characters due to a lack of space. I find this kind of upsetting as I am worried that running two characters won't provide much of challenge/I won't "see" the entire game.
Anyway, I've came up with a list of two character parties, and I would very much appreciate your input.
Valeros and Lini
Ezren and Lem
Harsk and Seoni
Sajan and Lini
I guess I'm looking for the most balanced team, and a team that will provide a challenge while not making the game impossible.
Thanks a bunch as always,
Grabnar

You really can try Runelords with just about any two characters. A few things to keep in mind - you probably don't want characters who will be competing for the same boons. Also, healing can be pretty important in a low character count game, as the threat of death is more prevalent than losing due to timing out.
Valeros and Lini - Lini has healing, and Valeros can help in fights before Lini gets her power feats set up well.
Ezren and Lem - could be tricky. Both will want arcane spells. Lem can heal, but he is best when stacked with another character which slows down exploration and location closing.
Harsk and Seoni - Harsk's support ability is nice in a small group. No healing though.
Sajan and Lini - They might both be after the few "unarmed attack" cards.

Ezren, Kyra and (Harsk or Merisiel or Sajan) lets you cover pretty much all stats (except Charisma) and make effective use of pretty much all of the loot cards in the set.
If in doubt, anyway, Ezren + Kyra is a good first step, taking the 'pure' Arcane caster and the 'pure' Divine caster (depending on whether you consider Lini or Kyra more fitting that role, to be fair).

I prefer Lini for my divine caster. I’m just having issues deciding if I want Valeros/Seelah for a fighter or Merisiel in place of a fighter.

I don't necessarily agree. She's sub-par in combat if she's not alone; but if you're down to the last couple of locations you usually have the most blessings and support to offer to compensate for that, as you're near the end of the game and can afford to spend your cards more assuming you still have a deck left (particularly if you have the heals-on-tap Kyra in the party). Besides, her free evade means you're somewhat less likely to get down to the last couple of locations in the first place, since she may encounter the villain and then evade them so that you can set up your chain of temp-closes and corner the villain efficiently.
I think Merisiel is fine in parties of any size, all in all. Not great, but fine.
(Note that Seelah is even better at isolating/identifying where villains are, and digging for Henchmen, one of the reasons she's such a strong character by RotR standards.)
