Confused by joust...

War for the Crown

I'm about to start Chapter 2 and must admit I'm not certain how the joust is supposed to run. It says everyone is paired off and go for five riunds. Do they joust each person for 5 rounds per match? Five matches of 1 round each, each with a different person? Do they not mean actual combat rounds? Say I have one PC likely to joust? What sample lineup can he expect to face?

There are five "other" competitors for the jousted listed on the top of page 15. Any PC will make a single pass against each of them, potentially scoring points on each one. These are the "five rounds". (The NPCs also make a single pass against eachother off-camera too.) At the end of this the two competitors with the most points face off in a final.

If no PC takes part it's just Okerra (11 points) vs. Titus (8 points) in the final. I'm guessing that these would be their scores from the four rounds they would take part in with no PCs, so you wouldn't have to subtract any points from them when your character(s) take part, just add points for how well they do against them.

(Obviously if more than one PC takes part there would have to have been more then five rounds before the final.)
