Gloomblades and modified weapons

A gloomblade can create a shadowy weapon in a free hand as a move action. This can take the form of any melee weapon with which he is proficient.

Does that include modified weapons if the character has Modified Weapon Proficiency, Weapon Adept, or if the modified weapon is simple or martial after modification?

I'd say yes...any weapon they are proficient with covers all the bases pretty well. Basically, if the character can wield it without a non-proficiency penalty, they can summon a shadowy version of it.

It works wonders with Improvisational Focus.

Wow! Great catch!

With that you can create literally anything!

Dip into Brawler for Martial Flexibility and you can swap in Exotic Weapon Proficiency whenever you feel like using oddball weapons.

Even better, if you take weapon adept- versatile design, the one level brawler dip makes you indirectly proficient in all melee weapons.

Adventurer's Armory 2 says that proficiency in a specific weapon is not sufficient for proficiency with a modified weapon, but brawlers are proficient with the entire close weapon group... which includes Fauchards and Scorpion Whips etc. suitably modified via versatile design to be in the close weapon group.

I love these ideas! If I wasn't going specifically for a fishing-themed character (net, trident, and harpoon) I'd probably steal all of them :-)

I may still take the improvisational focus idea for the random "I need a chair!" moments :-D

That is, after I get all the other feats I need to pull off the combo I want...
