Fantastic 4 bugs me in that it feels like 75% of the problems they face are just cleaning up after Reed's mistakes. Being one of the smartest guys in the world, he shouldn't have so many mistakes.
The MCU kinda became that for Tony. Creating Ultron --> Sokovia Accords --> Civil War...

Yes, but with Ultron (no matter which version of the Ultron story you look at - in some versions it's Hank Pym that builds Ultron instead of Tony) I see it as more of the classic "AI decides humans are the issue" story. I think the Accords would have come about regardless of Ultron - it would have been any high profile incident.

Yeah Orthos, Thanos double-sword was cool. And big.
(Think maybe he was compensating for something?) ;P
Wow, as a kid I don't recall any of that, (OK, I vaguely recall something about the negative zone, and an evil twin of richards who turned into a purple hulk ripoff) I just recall them fighting Doom, Fin Fang Foom, Mole Man, and a lot of the other marvel villains.
I just liked the bickering between Johhny storm and Thing, the variety of cool powers the team had and how they used them, and of course the cool inventions like the fantasti-car.
(OK, they were cool to ME, your mileage may vary) ;)
To be fair, I havent read any FF issues in a LONG time, maybe they've gotten worse? Or maybe now that I'm older the originals wouldnt read as good? Meh. Dont know. I just really liked them as a kid, and I guess first impressions die hard. :)
As a kid, the FF was one of the reasons that I couldn't decide what powers I would have if I were to become a superhero. They were all cool! :P
So, I made up a comic book version of myself called 'All-Hero', who could use his magic/technology belt to have any super power that he could think of.
(Yes. I drew comics of myself and my friend as super heroes when I was in grade school. Very badly. But I did.) ;P

AND you are right, that is EXACTLY what happened in the comics.
Read 'Civil War'.:)

I haven't read comics in years, decades maybe, and was a DC side of the fence guy. I don't recall ever reading an FF comic, so what were some of the really stupid things Reed did that they had to clean up?
I was going to link an article but there's just too many. Just Google "list of things Reed Richards screwed up" or something similar and you can read the many examples yourself. =)

In junior high school, I wrote bad short stories about a group of heroes based on my friends having powers called the Super Squad. My friend Bennie illustrated them. I have no idea where they ended up after so many years. We also drew Star Trek comics ourselves and passed them back and forth in class in the 6th grade.

Well Mom got back from surgery. It wasn't as...recover-ful? as before, but we'll see where we are in a week.
Also I think the point on Ultron has always been he doesn't like the frailities of humans (or mutants, or maybe even Eternals), but he can damn sure field himself an army when necessary.
I remember the FF fighting monsters too, but after they ended up shrinking Godzilla...I was less impressed.
Also even though the MCU Hank isn't as...bipolar as his comic counterpart, I think they both can be real dicks.
Finally, I'm looking forward the 18th of May and my chance to introduce my latest power couple, The Hellknight of Courtly Love and brutal cult suppression! :)

I'm glad Cal is better. Now if I can just figure out how to work "bug bear cultists of Chaugnar Faugn working with half xulgath cultists who are also unwitting pawns in a game created by an Apostate Devil to siphon souls from the River of Souls for hell using a Shinigami and possibly a kind of soul anchor."

Hey, all! Sorry, I'm just now getting round to this. I came home and fell asleep...lol.
The surgery went perfectly. I went from using a walker to moving about unassisted after only a 25 minute long surgery. I'm still kinda sore, but it's NOTHING like it was before. I have to keep it bandaged for 3 days then go back on the 21st to have the stitches removed and then decide whether or not I'll need physical therapy. I didn't on the first meniscectomy I had 3 years ago, so I probably won't things time. Logistically it wouldn't work out for me anyway, not having a working vehicle.
Anyway, thanks for the encouragement and stuff! Now I have to fight with my desktop computer again because the hard drive is dying...lol. It never ends! :)

Good times a plenty!
No flooding here, it seems to be going downstream.
I wouldn't want to be there!

Oh man, THAT adventure!
(The Keep ON the Borderlands)
:)
THAT brings back memories. I must have run that one myself at least 3 or 4 times.
Have fun with that!
(As the older adventures had great scenes, but little overall plot written into them, I tended to run it so that ,...

Oi vay, Flooding?
Yes please., Welcome to Louisiana.
Heavy rains coming through here for the next few days. One of the local outlying towns already looks like a lake, and it will rain through Sunday. :P
Schools all cancelled, EXCEPT the university, because this is their LAST day of finals. As my daughter put it, "We could be in a Cat 5 hurricane and they would still make us take out finals."
