Uplifted Bear and Natural Weapon damage

Rules Questions

The Uplifted bear has Natural Weapons that function like the Vesk. OK. But does it do the same damage? The bear's are Large. The CR4 example in AA2 does d6 base damage. I haven't seen anything that states damage die increment per size category as it does in PF or D&D. But I would expect it should.

No, the damage die by size increment is not a thing in Starfinder, which is, I think, part of why they've been more open to playable large races, in general.

I believe there is a passage under the weapons chapter of the CRB mentioning how a small character, medium character, and large character will have weapons that deal the same damage, built ino different casings, and that just extends over to unarmed attacks.

The CR4 example in AA2 is built by NPC CR array rules and has nothing to do with the attack statistics of an uplifted bear PC.

Starfinders cantina has eliminated just about every mechanical effect of size besides physically fitting your fluffy butt in a ventalation shaft. Including the damage dice.

The fact that a skittermander and a grizzly bear have the same modifier for stealth just seems wrong. I guess it's worth the cost to have a notably wider spread of racial options without breaking the game.

The skittermander needs to overcome the urge to help the bad guy hear him coming?

The bear is brown and nature-colored; he blends in, despite his size. The skittermander is hot pink and stands out, despite being small. Justifications can be fun!

Plus, there's the difficulty in finding some sort of cover or concealment.

Skittermander: I hide behind a waste basket.

GM: Ok, roll stealth

Yeah, being bigger still means its harder to find suitable concealment. Doesn't automatically make you brighter and noisier.
