Sell Price for Society Loot

Hi.

I know the sell price for used stuff is 10%.

But, this aplies to what you get on the chronicle sheet?

I received a Huchket Rifle, but it is useless for me. The cost price of 1400. I can only get 140???

I am likely wrong(being just a player), but I was told that you do not keep the items you gained from the mission, instead gaining the option to buy them from the chronicle at the end.

The only things you "get" are the Boons and the Credits. The Huchket Rifle(if its what Im thinking of) is allowed by a boon but must be purchased from the sheet.

The GM made me believe that I earned this item. At the end of the Chronicle Sheet you have a list of items that can be purchased and it is separate from these items.

But, I do not know now.

AtlasSniperman is correct.

The credits you earned on your chronicle include your share of “selling all the loot” as well as any straight credit rewards. The items are a list of items available for you to buy. (Assuming you meet the level requirements.)

This method prevents the arguments over “who gets item X?” The party sells everything, and then everyone can buy a copy of it.

The huchket rifle is presented on the chronicle because it is a new item (not in a published book). The rules needed to be on the chronicle for you to use it.

Could this be put explicitly in some document, because two GMs said I won the item.

My fear is playing with a GM who says otherwise. Which would prevent me from playing.

Is there any place where this is clearly said?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's in the SFS guild guide, on page 52:

"Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild play handles treasure and in-game monetary rewards differently than a standard roleplaying experience. Instead of dividing up treasure among the party, every Starfinder has access to every piece of loot available in an adventure. Every Chronicle sheet lists all the equipment that can be found during the adventure, with the exception of minor items available to every character. After the scenario, the GM checks which items you and your fellow Starfinder discovered, and each of these items immediately becomes available for purchase by all party members. If two players in the party want an item, they both can purchase their own. Items not discovered in play are crossed off by the GM. In addition, every player who completes a scenario receives a set amount of credits for the scenario that she can spend to acquire items from sources listed found at paizo.com/starfindersociety/additional."

(quoting the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide, version 1.1)

Having its stats printed on the chronicle does not make the Huchket Rifle an exception to those rules. You'll see that it's also listed below in the set of items available for purchase.

I'll even jump in and say that the reason that the GM made a big deal of this rifle, is that it is available nowhere else. It's a wonderful low level longarm, and the only place you can purchase it is from that chronicle. Your kind actions toward the husk ghibrani earned you the right to be able to purchase this rifle.

Hmm

My huchket rifle is still being used by me at Level Seven. I haven't replaced it yet!

Firstly, I commend you Number-7 for requesting the rule. That is a great way to prevent from being mislead. Secondly, a big thank you to Eleanor Good for the rule citation. Lastly, and put simply, those two GMs are incorrect. I would encourage you to inform them of this so that they do not mislead others.
