Eidolon Shared Evolution Questions

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

My first question is should I choose the skilled evolution as my Shared Evolution after I transfer it do I then get to choose what skill gets the +8? or is it the skill that I chose on my Eidolon when I first got the Skilled evolution?

and just too make sure, If my Eidolon has multiple Skilled evolutions it does not transfer them all with Shared Evolution right?

Last but not least does the Feat evolution work the same way as the answer to above?

That is all thank you.

You're playing a Twinned Summoner, right? Because your eidolon needs to have the Twinned subtype to take Shared Evolution.

If so, then you'd need to choose a skill when your Eidolon takes the evolution, and not after it's been transferred.

And it wouldn't transfer multiple Skilled evolutions.

And the Feat evolution would work the same way.

I do not know what Twinned Summoner is but I am playing a Base Class Summoner no archetypes and not Summoner Unchained.

What I meant when I was talking about the Skilled evolution is, say when I choose the Skilled evolution I choose Perception to gain the +8 bonus, I then decide to take Shared Evolution and choose Skilled:(Perception),

The question is, does it stay as Skilled:(Perception) or could I change it too something like Skilled:(Spellcraft)?

Select a 1-point or 2-point evolution the eidolon has. As a standard action, the eidolon can touch the summoner and transfer the selected evolution to him. This functions as the summoner’s aspect ability, and the same limitations apply. The summoner can touch the eidolon as a standard action to return the evolution. The evolution returns to the eidolon automatically if the eidolon is dismissed by the summoner or sent back to its home plane. Requirements: Twinned eidolon.

You can't take the Shared Evolution if your Eidolon isn't a Twinned eidolon.

But it would still be Skilled:(Perception), if you had a Twinned eidolon.

Are you getting yours from D20PFSRD.com cuz mine does not have a requirement.

I think yours is from Summoner Unchained and mine is from base class Summoner but I could be wrong.

Nah, I'm getting mine from Archives of Nethys. Which is the official website nowadays.

I've tried to get some definite proof, but D20PFSRD and Archives are in direct conflict regarding this subject.

Archives doesn't list the Shared Evolution in their chained Eidolon list, so we can't compare the text. And D20PFSRD doesn't list the Shared Evolution in their Unchained Ediolon list.

Previously, D20PFSRD had some paragraphs clarifying that Shared Evolution could only be taken if you have the Twinned Summoner archetype. But that seems to have been removed from the description of the archetype.

If any of us had the 'Legacy of the First World' book, we could easily check the source. There was a PDF online a couple months ago that could have been used as proof, but that one has also been removed. Probably because of copyright.

I've got a copy of the Legacy of the First World (pdf). Shared Evolution is on page 19. It is part of the new archetype released for the Twinned Summoner, and the title says that "Any eidolon that serves a twinned summoner ... can take the following new evolutions." The limitation is not listed in the actual description of the evolution, but it is part of the archetype for Twinned Summoner.

This issue might be popping up for those of us that use Herolab, as it does not make the distinction between a Twinned Summoner (unchained) or a normal summoner as far as the evolution is concerned.
