I have an idea for my party that would add some color to their game. A magic trap that gives them something like rabbit ears, monkey tail or such for role playing. but other than baleful polymorph I don't see much to accomplish this. they would either get slipped a magic draught, drink from a magic spring, or such. other than 'just make it up', is there some spell to do this?

Using the polymorph line of spells? No. There are only 2 of them that are cast as hostile spells and both have quite a few limitations on what you can do with them.
But there is this wonderfully openly defined spell called Bestow Curse. Using that spell you can create any effect that is less annoying than the ones listed in that spell. Including warping the flesh to your demented heart's content.
And curses are harder to remove than most polymorph spells.

It sounds like you don't want these form changes to have mechanical effects, just a different visual flavor. There aren't really many spells designed just to be flavor without a mechanical effect.
I think the closest you would really come to here is looking at the afore mentioned animal aspect spells along with alter self, if you allow alter self (or some version of it) to work with 'imaginary' humanoids, i.e. human with rabbit ears rather than defined, in-game races.
Personally, if I was doing this I'd just go with creating possibilities that assigned a minor bonus to a skill or two with a counter balance of a minus on CHR based skills (unless it got a bonus) so the 'Grow Rabbit Ears' might give a +2 to perception checks, at a cost of -2 to CHR based skills. Monkey tail would be +2 to Sleight of Hand, - 2 to CHR based skills.
I would want some mechanics, but I wouldn't want them to be very extreme.
