Downtime Rules - building simulatenously

Downtime Rules

Using Downtime Rules, is it possible to build multiple rooms simulatenously, assuming one stays within the Settlement Spending Limit? I understand, that one does make the construction work oneself, one hires workers to do that (Labor), so I don't see why not, but I can't find it clearly stated onle way or the other.

It is a GM call. The rules don't mention it at all. Technically you design a building by adding rooms to it and then construct the entire building at once usually taking months to finish it. However, the rules allow for adding rooms to an existing building. Overall the downtime rules take way too long to make anything reasonable, with a moderately large house taking almost a year to make.

Probably the most reasonable method would be to construct one room, then build off of that. This way it takes longer than 1 month to build the entire building but you aren't spending months to make a warehouse.

Or you could make a bunch of single room buildings that are close to each other and then build hallways between them. Hallways are technically free and take no construction time. Actually if you are looking to use the downtime rules to earn resources its more efficient to have single rooms anyways.

Houses did take some time to make using medieval to renaissance technology, though they didn't have the benefit of magic, and the number of laborers involved makes a huge difference. Not sure how well the downtime rules model such things. Random McGoogleSearch drops an estimate of about 5 months for 10 "experienced constructors" to make a house, but that's useless as a solid guideline.
