What are the Guidelines for Tenants?

Advice

I want to add tenants to some gods I made, but I don't know what the rules/guidelines are, and none of the books I have contain any details.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your gods are landlords? I'm sure there are no rules or guidelines for divine housing providers.

Edit: possibly you mean tenets, i.e. Ideas central to the religion?

Yes, tenets. I wasn't sure how to spell it and my phone only suggested tenants.

Don't think there are rules for that either, more of a roleplay/ world flavor thingy.

Yeah. There's no guidelines telling you that, say, extinguishing fires completely is against a tenet of the fire-goddess and her priests will take an ember from any fire before doing so, but you can add somethng like that easily enough.

Is this the same as the dual-edge genesis gods you had in the homebrew forum or some other? If it's another bunch, what can you say about them?

Wing it.

It's a new bunch, more like gods in physical form (I'm fleshing out Gods-Chosen for this purpose). Here's a couple of gods I have in mind:

•Niera: The new Goddess of Souls, has been training under the tutledge of the previous God of Souls, Nevix, for less than a year when Nevix died. Nowdays, she stalks Rydia, which Nevix requested to bring back from her banishment on his deathbed. She is fairly well trained for her role, starting as a level 10 Slayer/Warpriest gestalt/tier 5 God-Chosen.

•Rydia: A reincarnating soul inexorably bound to Velise's as a twin and having long history of repeatedly being the God or Goddess of Industry, was banished and separated from their godhood by Nevix 10,000 years ago for waging a perpetual war against Velise, forced to watch another wield their powers of Industry, only to implode their own nations. Now that Rydia is back and Goddess of Industry again, she decided to put her dominion over Industry on backseat to focus on Commerce and Trade instead. This incarnation of her is new to godhood and seeks to be ready should her powers be striped again, starting as a level 9 Combat Gunner Conscript/Shaman gestalt/tier 2 God-Chosen.

•Velise: Rydia's soul-twin and perpetual repeat Goddess of Nature and Beauty, she lives capriciously and carefree, often polymorphing creatures on a whim. She is unconcerned about life without her godhood, starting as a level 2 Bard/Sylvan Sorcerer gestalt/tier 10 God-Chosen.

Eh, I suppose I could use the Ronan Samurai's Edicts for a guideline.

A Goddess of Souls, taking over from an earlier god who trained her. I expect her to have strong opinions on the misuse of souls; undead might be anathema as might using souls to make magic items, outright destroying souls certainly should be. If there are ways of bringing back memories from previous incarnations then those are probably sacred rituals to her cult.

Also given her background I expect respect for teachers/elders to be a tenet of her faith.

The slayer//warpriest bit suggests a militant cult to me, and one which thinks more highly of self-sufficient heroes than of an organised military. I might be reading too much into that though.

Rydia: I can't think of much to say about this except that odd things can become traditions (consider the fashions of Amsterdam in the 16th century becoming established as the business suit). Her cult might embrace wealth = power = respect into an ossified heirarchy, or it might see the constant flow of wealth as the highest virtue and so despise those who hoard their wealth and power. Or anything between the two. No data.

Velise: she's not going to impose traditions from the sound of it, so it depends whether her cult is made more of those who truly respect her ideas or more of opportunists taking advantage of her magic. Either's possible.

I was trying to build Niera as a Reaper type, Rydia as a modern assassin, and Velise as a magical hippie.
