Eidolon Help Guide

Advice

Hello Everyone!!

I am starting a new Lv3 pathfinder campaign and i have chosen to play a human summoner but unfortunately we dont have a hard hitting tank, so it falls to me to make one (which i dont mind doing) but i need some help what it the strongest, tankeset or just the best combat ediolon i can make at lv3.

Thanks for any help

The summoner out of the APG, or the revised/nerfed version introduced in Pathfinder Unchained? I'll assume the former now but if I'm wrong let me know.

The pounce evolution makes hard hitting happen more often. This means you want to start with a quadruped eidolon, which is required for pounce. You'll also want the claws evolution. With your 3 remaining evolution points you might take ability increase (strength) and improved natural armor for a simple tank.

Your eidolon also gets a couple of feats. These might be improved unarmed strike (which you won't use directly) and snake style or dragon style, or it might get 2 of {power attack, dodge or weapon focus} for simple combat bonuses, or it might get antagonize to focus attention on itself, or combat reflexes and bodyguard to protect others,... there are more options but that's enough to take a look at I think.

For your summoner's own feats summoner's call makes your eidolon a little tougher directly and resilient eidolon makes it stick around briefly if your summoner gets knocked out, extra evolution lets you pick another evolution up, or reach spell & distant spell link make it possible to buff or heal it with touch/personal spells from close range, or spell focus (conjuration) & augment summoning make your summons better when your eidolon is not around - using your eidolon is only one option and not always the strongest.

Thank you for the help this has given me a great start
