I have a character that uses natural attacks, including claw attacks. How can he get rend? To be clear, how do I qualify for Rending Fury? I have been told that Rending Claws is not enough for that.
I'm sure this is in no way related to Kei. I was of the mind that Rending Claws and Two Weapon Rend each qualified for Rending Fury. Do you have a source for these not qualifying or is your GM strong-arming you. There are other things to considers though. Rending Claws adds a grand total of 1d6 for landing two hits, fair enough. Rending Fury changes that to landing 1 hit, better but thats two feats for 1d6 once a round. However, Rending Fury is definitely worth it other forms of Rend. The damage from Two Weapon Rend would be good enough and easily abtained by someone who is say, two weapon fighting with claws. Dex to damage should alter the damage of Double Slice and Two-Weapon Rend making them viable for dex builds. This forum proved helpful but is not definitive.
I was looking through forums for info about rend and a few said that it doesn't qualify. But I don't remember anyone showing a Faq or anything like that.
Plus the description for Two-Weapon Rend specifically states that it works as Rend. Rending Claws doesn't have that.
I'll keep Two-Weapon Rend in mind, but it does take 3 feats and a BAB of 11 to use. That means Kei won't qualify until his 12th level of Warpriest when he gets a bonus feat and can use his warpriest level as his BAB.
Its not too good of a feat so Kei really should delay grabbing it anyways. It would be a nice buff at 12th but not too good earlier especially if you're using rending claws for rending fury.
Yeah. When I get around to play Kei, I'll have to ask the GM if Rending Claws qualifies for Rending Fury.
