The entry for alchemist's fire on p. 360 specifies 1d8 damage. However, in the description for the alchemist class feature Empower bombs it says:

Rulebook, p. 46 wrote:
At 3rd level, you can create 3rd-level bombs that deal double the bomb’s base damage as presented in its entry. For instance, if you created a flask of 3rd-level empowered alchemist’s fire (see page 360), it would deal 2d6 fire damage, 2 persistent fire damage, and 1 splash damage on a hit.

Which is correct, 1d8 or 1d6?

Silver Crusade

I'd go with the actual entry for Alchemist's fire. Who knows at what point in the testing that the example in the class part was written?

it may be just a typo, however if you were to increase the size of a weapon that does 1d8 for medium to a large version it would do 2d6. It could be something along those lines.

Bumping this because as it was posted way early and went under in the deluge of posts, and because maybe now that Gen Con is over, someone from Paizo might be able to explain.

I'm definitely assuming 1d8 until I read otherwise, and it multiplies to 2d8.
