Barbarian walking in area of Shifting Sand

Advice

As per the spell Shifting Sand, I was wondering if there are good ways for the Barbarian to walk into this area without having to roll a saving throw. There are two casters in the group who can both airwalk, could they give the barbarian Feather Step? I guess he would still need to make a reflex save though. Can anyone suggest any way he could go into the area without being affected like the other two casters.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

One of the casters could cast air walk on the barbarian for a start. Or possibly fly. Or the barbarian should have a magic item allowing flight if neither caster ever helps out there (anything from a floating feather up to wings of flying). If the caster of the shifting sand has the fleeting spell metamagic they can dismiss it as a swift action - this is why I recommend that metamagic for battlefield control casters.

An athletic barbarian might be able to jump onto the target as part of a charge. It won't save them from later effects but it gets them in OK. Works best with overrun.

That last paragraph was quite epic, is it possible to do an acrobatics check to jump on top of the enemy and start fighting him while hanging onto his body? He does have many ranks in acrobatics.

The thing with giving Airwalk is neither the casters wanna use there level four slot on giving him airwalk heh.

That sounds like something involving grappling to me. I don't think there's rules for it exactly, you'd have to make something up.

BTW, what's with the use of 'wanna'? It's something I've seen a ~ dozen times on the Paizo boards in the last month or so, but never before.

Those rules will be made up cuz it sounds so epic. Wanna simply means "want to".
