WHEN are you making a roll?

Rules Questions

So, there are a lot of situations, when you need to roll a single roll (for knowledge, profession, craft or smoething) after the long period of work. The roll represents a result of the work, and it may be just a summary or making the final peace, it depends on the task.

Th question is: how can you use spells and bonuses to rolls, and can you use spells and bonuses, that last not during all the process? Some examples:

Guidance - only lasts 1 minute, but if I have a cleric-slave and make him cast guidance all the time I'm working - is it good enough?

Teaching staff (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/goods-and-services/toys-games-puzzles/# TOC-Teaching-Staff) - why do we need it, if it lasts only 1 minute? All rituals lasts longer, and other use like, for exapmle, identifying an unead, is stupid.

Researching a ritual from occult: It lasts for months sometimes, can we use spells, drugs and other items, how often do we need to use them?

So, is there a rule about using bonuses to skill and ability checks for really long tasks?

are we talking bread or sushi (rolls)? lol...

the bonus has to last for the duration of the task, start to finish. That is part and parcel of spell duration so you don't need a FAQ. Most rolls are made at the end of a task.

A Guidance spell would have to be cast as the Diplomacy-Influence check is started (Influence Attitude: Using Diplomacy to influence a creature’s attitude takes 1 minute of continuous interaction.). Personally as a GM if the guy you are trying to influence sees someone cast a spell at the start of negotiations then he knows there is an obvious magical influence and that probably means a circumstance penalty to the roll.

In PFS there are Day Job checks that represent the gold you earn from a days work (or longer). Crafter's Fortune applies but Guidance does not. You can search on the reasoning but it boils down to duration of the task and spell.
