Now that the boat is in view, and while I wait for someone to save my life :) I'll make a reactive K. engineering to see if there's anything noteworthy about the boat...like the style and who might make it, etc.

Apologies, I though we had more PCs to go, didn't realize we are only 4. Also the site was down for me this morning.
Las takes out some alchemical grease from his handy haversack and spreads it on him in hopes of proving too slick for the croc.
General Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Know Local on Pirates: 1d20 + 8 + 1d1d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + (4) = 18
Rolled a K. Nature on the croc earlier...
"Can someone pull me free of this creature? Don't think we're going to kill it before it kills me..."
Las activates his Resilience boon as a swift action.
Taliesin Staccato
|
"Help him, someone!" Taliesin calls out, seeing Lajas' danger.
The bard casts grease on the investigator, hopeful it will help him escape.
Maybe redundant with your own stuff, but this will give you +10 instead of +5.
| DM Amazing Red |
It's a crocodile animal companion. What did you want to know? Tali has already gone this round, she glitterdusted the pirates.
All the sailors just try to wipe their eyes clean of glitterdust.
A1: 1d20 ⇒ 19
A2: 1d20 ⇒ 14
S1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
S2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Only one of them shakes it off as their boat floats nearer. The halfling finishes her spell and a vicious looking octopus appears. She points at Truk and the normally sea-faring animal goes after the half orc.
Smite Good Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
1d3 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
She then casts another spell and a ball of flame appears in her hand. She then hurls it at Talia!
VS Touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Fire Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The crocodile will tuck it's legs and rolls rapidly!
Death Roll!: 1d20 + 16 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 16 + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 How much does resilience give you, Lajas?
And the investigator is knocked prone! Or unconscious depending on the answer to the above question. Party is up again! Talia can keep her desired action from earlier or change it.
Las Lajas

Forgot to roll it, but I'll just skip it and go unconscious in the hopes the creature moves on and this will give Talia her spell back.
Stabilize checks for the next couple of rounds 2d20 ⇒ (12, 17) = 29 add +1 to each roll
Taliesin Staccato

Sorry, got a turn ahead of myself. Skip the grease.
Taliesin cringes as the animal companion takes out one of their small group, and she is scorches by the flames. Seeing that things could go from bad to worse with the boat closing in, she continues inspiring her standing companions and tries to disable to crocodile with a shrill note that only it can hear.
Casting Cacophonous Call, DC 17 Will save or nauseated 4 rounds.
Guys, with a party of 4, this really could be bad. We have 1 down, but with a boat full of guys coming that will bring us down quickly. I hope you all have something up your sleeves!
Truk the Hammer
|
What does a vicious looking octopus look like? Normal octopi are already kind of scary.
With Tali's spell disabling the croc, Truk focuses on the summoned sea life menacing him. The big orc shifts his stance and balls up his fists together before smashing the octopus with the might of a dragon.
Martial maneuvers for dragon style.
Smash (Tali's stuff): 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 11 + 2 = 31

Would be great to get Lajas back in the fight...I've used both my big spells to disable the enemy. If both hadn't worked, we could be in a real bind. ALSO, PLEASE REMEMBER THE +2 ATK/+2 DMG. It would be helpful if you guys would note it in your dice rolls so that I know you remembered.
Morvius Eruthiel

With the crocodile chundering and the octopus obliterated, Morvius turns his attention to the halfling.

Taliesin, continuing to take damage from the fire thrown at her, moves into a position behind Truk and the fallen Lars. Am I correct they are both in R20? If so, I have just enough movement to get me to R21.
She activates a hidden wrist-sheath to draw a curative wand forth, which she taps Lars with.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Bah!
REMEMBER +2 ATK/+2 DMG!
| DM Amazing Red |
Yea.
Morvius fails to return fire. Tali moves and heals the down investigator. The unblind pirate fires at Truk again.

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Their boat then finishes closing the distance with your barge. Party is up.
Truk the Hammer
|
After patting out the fire, Truk shifts his stance. The hulking orc abandons his double-fisted strategy and winds up for a big uppercut.
"Hey you! Leave the others alone. This is between you and me", he bellows at the unblinded archer.
Move action to get cleave instead of dragon style. Challenging A1. Fighting defensively.
The moment the river pirates are in range, Truk throws a whistling haymaker.

Man, the dice gods must have a thing against me. I bet it's the free inspiration thing that really ticks them off.
Since my general perception check earlier did not reveal that the druid was armed, I'm assuming that the druid is not. If the druid is armed, then my actions will most likely change.
Las opens his eyes, expecting to see the inside of a crocodile. For second, covered in blood and vomit, Las thinks he is, but then he quickly ascertains the situation. Las' first priority is to put distance between himself and the croc. Las checks to make sure the Druid is unarmed before he rises and retreats behind the bard,
"Thank you, and please don't stop."
| DM Amazing Red |
Tali heals the downed investigator who immediately gets up and retreats behind her. The halfling druid steps back and begins casting another spell.

The blind pirates attacks' either swing through open air or are deflected by Truk's armor. While they recover, the big orc winds up for another brutal haymaker.

Las tries to determine what spell the Druid is casting...

"He's summoning another creature." Las then draws his wand of magic missiles attempting to interrupt the druid
Use Magical Device: 1d20 + 9 + 1d1d6 ⇒ (9) + 9 + (2) = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Assuming Tali's buff does not apply to the wand
Since attacks are supposed to be resolved as soon as they are made e.g. saving throws and concentration checks, I assume Las gets to know immediately whether the Druid's spell is interrupted. If it is not....Las swiftly activates his Resilience boon.
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Taliesin Staccato
|
Taliesin looks at the curative wand in her hand, and weight the utility of healing Lajas more, or herself for that matter, she determines the best thing she could do is cast grease in the middle of the enemy raiders.
"Careful!" she exclaims. "It's slippery when wet!"
Grease, DC 16 Refl, targeting center of their boat. Guys, we may also want to finish off that croc while we have a chance. It hits really hard.
Las Lajas

Tali may want to delay until after Morvius fires his shots so he won't have to fire on prone targets.

Truk dispatches both pirates with ease and they are knocked out.
Concentration: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

As Las sees the druid lose his spell, he can't help but smile, mumbling...
"You know...I picked up this wand for just this occasion...and this is the first time I've used it ."
Las shouts back,
"You won't get any argument from me if you promise to call that prehistoric monstrosity off! But let me introduce you to our muscle...oh wait...you two have already met."
Las whispers to Tali "How long is that croc going to continue on like that anyway?" Las is clearly nervous and seems to tap into some inner power as the color returns to his dark-skinned cheeks.
Las will go ahead and use the swift action boon anyway. Better to be safe than dead.
