Hi all, as stated, I'm double checking some creation business.
8th level magic user is looking to upgrade his mace +1 disruption to a +2. Disruption is a +2 upgrade, meaning to make the enhancement +2, it's the cost difference of a +3 to a +4.
However, since it's essentially a +4, that means the caster has to be 12th level, since that's three times the enhancement bonus, right?

So from the PFSRD I get this
Caster Level for Weapons: The caster level of a weapon with a special ability is given in the item description. For an item with only an enhancement bonus and no other abilities, the caster level is three times the enhancement bonus. If an item has both an enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster level requirements must be met.
So from that effectively it looks like the item is a +1 item with a +2 enhancement. The higher of the two is +2.
Since a weapon can only max be +5 enhancement with +5 in other enhancements like vorpal and whatnot (making it effectively +10) I think its the higher of the two only.
I dont remember there being any rules for a lvl 30 class so Im assuming (big assumption here) that minimum you need to be level 6 and then to make it a +3 or add another misc enhancement to it to make its like a Flaming Disruption spell you'll need to be level 9+

Yup.

Nah, the enhancement bonus is still only +2.
The required Caster Level to create a magic weapon is the higher of:
[Enhancement Bonus]x3, or the Caster Level of the Special Abilities.
Disruption has a CL of 14, which means that the required caster level to make a +2, Disruption Mace is 14. The required caster level to make a +5, Disruption Mace is 15 ([5]x3), not 15+14 or anything like that.
Creating a magic weapon has a special prerequisite: The creator’s caster level must be at least three times the enhancement bonus of the weapon. If an item has both an enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster level requirements must be met. A magic weapon must have at least a 1 enhancement bonus to have any melee or ranged special weapon abilities.
This caster level prerequisite can be circumvented by increasing the Spellcraft DC by 5, as mentioned in the magic item creation rules.
Note that all items have prerequisites in their descriptions. These prerequisites must be met for the item to be created. Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item’s creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed). The DC to create a magic item increases by 5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet. The only exception to this is the requisite item creation feat, which is mandatory. In addition, you cannot create potions, spell-trigger, or spell-completion magic items without meeting its prerequisites.
*******************
The Spellcraft DC for a lv 8 Wizard to craft a +2, Disruptive Mace is:
5 (Starting Value)
+14 (Caster Level of Special Ability)
+5 (Does not fulfill the CL 14 prerequisite)
+5 (Is not able to cast the Heal spell)
= 29
Which should be doable if the 8th level Wizard have invested into the Spellcraft Skill. 8 Ranks, Class Skill, and an Int mod of at least six puts us at +17.
Then buy an Arcane Family Workbook for 300 gp, and your skill bonus is at +19/+21. Just Take 10 on the Spellcraft check and you'll be fine.

Re: cost: Correct!
Re: caster level: Nope, else you'd never see a magic weapon with more than +6 equivalence. Only raw enhancement bonus has such a caster level requirement. A property only has a caster level requirement if the specific property says it does under "Requirements". (Disruption has no caster level requirement.) In both cases, such a requirement can be bypassed by increasing the crafting DC by 5. So your "minimum caster level" is 6, but even that can be bypassed with sufficient Spellcraft.
