Blaster Sorcerer Build

Advice

Hello i’m looking for a full dps blaster sorcerer Build. We start from lv 12, can you help me?

If you are starting at level 12, consider Crossblooded Sorcerer with Dragon (your choice of element) and Orc Bloodlines. Gives you +2 damage per die to your blasts, aka fireball goes from 10d6 (35 average) to 10d6 + 20 (55 average). Also you are close to level 15, so make your build with Spell Perfection in mind. Is pure DPS your only concern, or are you interested in attaching battlefield control effects to your blasts with things like Dazing Spell?

With Magical Lineage (Fireball) and Wayang Spellhunter (Fireball), along with spell perfection (Fireball), you can have a Intensified Dazing Persistent Maximized Fireball in a 7th level slot. 135 damage and they have to make 2 reflex saves or be dazed for 3 rounds. If they make the save they are still taking 67 damage. And this is just a setup I came up with off the top of my head. People on these boards who are much more familiar with the optimization of Evokers and use of Spell Perfection will be able to help a lot more.

Crossblooded is overkill in my opinion. If you really only care about damage at the expense of literally everything else then it's the way to go, but the downsides really aren't worth it, not when a well-built Sorcerer blaster sorcerer already deals "save or die" levels of damage without it. Moreover, not talking crossblooded means the Primal Elemental bloodlines are available to you, and they're really nice.

Blasters need to specialize in a single spell to be effective. You'll still be able to use other spells, but you'll generally only use them to take advantage of elemental weaknesses. Given that you're starting at 12th level you have a great deal of options to pick from. Fireball is a fan favorite for obvious reasons, but Chain Lightning is also a popular pick. Battering Blast is a more obscure option, but dealing force damage makes it very effective. However, you could pick any number of spells and be effective with them. I've seen Cone of Cold before, for instance, and it worked well.

Genoin mentioned Magical Lineage and Wayang Spellhunter. By strict RAW they stack, but this is highly contentious and many GM's (myself included) will not allow them to stack. Definitely talk to your GM before you attempt to stack them. If he's crazy enough to allow it, then you may as well take advantage of his generosity.

Metamagic is, of course, very good. Dazing Spell is incredibly valuable as a way to disrupt while you deal damage, while Intensified Spell is important to raise your damage dice cap and gain the full benefit of your caster level. Quicken Spell and either Empower Spell or Maximize Spell are also good choices. (Greater) Spell Focus, (Greater) Spell Penetration, and Spell Specialization are all great feat picks and will make your spells that much more dangerous. Unless you find yourself very feat starved, try to pick up as many of them as you can.

Now for the real fun: bloodline mutations. These are Sorcerer-exclusive powers. They can be taken in the place of a bloodline class feature, or they can be taken in the place of a bloodline feat. Blood Havoc and Blood Intensity are the ones you want at your level. They are absolutely breathtaking options that are nearly mandatory on blasters.

Playing as a human or half-human race (anything with the human subtype; many of the planar races, like Tieflings or Aasimar, have variant racial options that give the human subtype) is incredibly valuable for Sorcerers. This qualifies you for the human sorcerer favored class bonus, which grants one additional spell known at every level. This is huge, and gives you an arsenal of non-blasting options for situations where blowing stuff up won't work. You'll probably only use two or three blasting spells, modifying them with metamagic, and that means most of your spells known will be for other sorts of things; utility, defense, battlefield control, whatever you want. This is one of the most underappreciated parts of blasting: a good blasting build doesn't need to invest very many spells known, so they can be extremely versatile and well-rounded in addition to being a high DPR nuke.

Yeah, not everyone will allow the two reduction traits to stack. If they do, something like Fireball is probably your best bet (Wayang Spellhunter requires it be a spell of level 3 or lower). If not, take Magical Lineage (no level requirement) and feel free to pick something like chain lighting. You can also go Ball Lightning + Dazing spell if you want more BFC at the expense of up front damage. IIRC Firesnake is/was a pretty popular one. Its damage to subsequent targets is a bit more reliable than Chain Lightning and it has probably the most customizable AoE of all blasting spells.

Never forget your mnemonic vestment and a few pages of spell knowledge. Heck, you might even go with one of the elemental races (sylph, ifrit, oread, undine, I think) instead of human if you feel versatile enough already. They boost your effective Charisma for all class abilities (including spells).

This is just crucial advice for any sorcerer.
