So a friend of mine, you've seen him around in another post i'm sure, is having an issue with Elemental Blade and Knight's Resolve apparently conflicting.
Elemental Blade:
At 3rd level, the kinetic knight gains the blade rush infusion.
This ability alters kinetic blast and infusions, and replaces metakinesis and metakinetic master.
-------------------------------
Knight's Resolve:
This ability replaces the kineticist infusion gained at 3rd level and supercharge.
-------------------------------------
This is the relevant information of the problem. He seems to believe that Elemental Blade stops you from taking your other infusions. I keep trying to tell him that it merely alters, not replaces your infusions. Replacing them would prevent you from gaining other infusions at 1st, 5th, 7th, etc etc that can be used alongside your Elemental Blade abilities.
He believes that obtaining Knight's Resolve at 3rd, stops you from having the 3rd level ability of Elemental Blade, citing it replaces your infusion.
I know this isn't the case, as it is a part of Elemental Blade and it is Elemental Blade that gives you the infusion, not your infusions obtained by level.
Can anyone make it clear to him that the abilities of the class do not contradict each other, as he has said that I alone can not convince him otherwise.

I guess the question is if the list and the slots to take abilities from the list are separate subfeatures of an overall thing. Either way, it's fine for a single archetype to do this, since it'd be dysfunctional otherwise. A few other classes have archetypes like this that change multiple facets of a single feature. Counting those I could find:
Pack Hunter Barbarian changes Rage Powers, but it also replaces the 6th level Rage Power.
Elder Mythos Cultist Cleric changes Channel Energy, and also loses out on some channel dice at level 5, 11, and 19.
Psychic Detective Investigator replaces the third level Talent and changes their list to remove Alchemist Discovery.
Tome Eater Occultist alters Implements and replaces the 6th level Implement.
Psychic Searcher Oracle says it alters bonus spells, but also says it replaces the bonus spell gained at 2nd level.
Psychic has two in Mutation Mind and Psychic Duelist. Both change Amplifications, with MM also replacing the first level amplification and the Duelist replacing the seventh level amplification.
Teisatsu Vigilante changes the Vigilante Talents, and replaces the second level Vigilante Talent.
Disenchanter Warpriest alters Bonus Feats, and replaces the sixth level bonus feat. Forgepriest changes Bonus Feats as well, and replaces the 3rd and 6th level feats.
Mountain Witch and Scarred Witch Doctor both alter Hexes, with Mountain replacing the first level Hex and Scarred replacing the second level Hex.
Spirit Whisperer Wizard alters Bonus Feats and replaces the Bonus Feat at twentieth level.

Writer of the archetype here. (Hopefully that's enough to persuade your wayward friend!)
The specific infusions granted by Elemental Blade are in addition to, and completely separate from, the infusions you gain at every odd level. You gain those normally, except where replaced by Knight's Resolve.
The phrase "alters infusions" has a different effect here. Per the Archetype Stacking FAQ (which someone will hopefully be kind enough to link, as doing so is tricky on a phone), an archetype ability that alters an entire class feature precludes you from selecting other archetypes that replace or alter any part of that class feature. So a kinetic knight can't select other archetypes that replace or modify the infusion class feature as a whole, nor can she select other archetypes that replace any one infusion.
Hopefully this clears things up a little. ^_^
