Heal Spell

Rules Questions

Hope your all having a good weekend out there. Just a question, Heal indicates:

"If used against an undead creature, heal instead acts like harm."

Now I have spell focus Conjuration, would that apply or would the "Harm" necromancy school apply here? I'm thinking Conjuration since its originally Heal we are casting here?

That's an "Ask your GM" situation.

Unfortunately, that's legacy text, from back in the day when the heal/cure spells were all necromancy, too.

I would say Conjuration applies. You are still conjuring positive energy, the goal of doing that don't matter.

The spell you're casting is heal, which is a conjuration(healing) spell, so Spell Focus applies.

Technically, heal does NOT function as harm when cast upon undead, or else it would repair damage they have taken, since harm produces negative energy and undead are repaired by negative energy.
