Mythic summoner

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I have a problem, u see i just reached mythic tier and i was thinking my eidolon should have his own mithic path. I know what u are about to say, he is just a class feature, an animal companion dosent get anything, it will break the game, etc. But listen to this, the very first description from the summoner page says that the summoner and the eidolon will, with time, share a piece of soul. Thats the first argument for the mythic eidolon. Besides, the eidolon is so unique that u need to pick skills, feats, stats upgrades and even equipment for him alone giving him the rank of a player (which is compensated with the lack of power of the summoner). For the last argument, even if it only aplys to me, i received mythic rank when my eidolon sister found him, moving across planes for years, as a reincarnated creature that was condenated to live as one of the lesser creatures of that realm, an ancient king that had to live his life again. when the cepter was retrieved to him, he remembered his past and atained his full power. with this in mind, the eidolon is the mythic one, not me. So give me your opinion. Thx.

They share a piece of the soul, meaning the summoner is mythic even if the Eidolon got the glory. Marshal gives you the power to effect things with your mythic powers for non-mythic things, giving you a way to use your mythic on your Eidolon. Guardian gives you a path power to use on eidolon along with a lot of other path abilities for your Eidolon.

If you want to give your mythic options to your Eidolon, there are a number of ways to do it. Mythic is INSANELY powerful. Mythic was never designed around your Eidolon getting it.

Summoner is a poor choice for a mythic game.

The mythic powers end up divided between you and your eidolon, with your eidolon getting the short end of the stick.

If you're willing to accept third-party material, there's this set of options.

(Mythic Class Abilities are effectively Tier 1 Universal Path Abilities, and bought as such.)

If you and your eidolon share a soul you are essentially the same character, not separate characters. This means you share power. If both you and your eidolon are mythic you are not sharing power. There are a number of mythic abilities that affect animal companions or familiars. You should simply choose those abilities instead of ones giving you mythic abilities.

You should not gain a mechanical benefit because of the fluff of your background. If you want to say your eidolon is the source of your mythic abilities that is fine, but it does not change the game mechanics in any way shape or form. If both of you are getting mythic abilities your character will be noticeably more powerful than other characters. If only your eidolon has mythic abilities that mean you don’t have access to them when he is not there. That makes you noticeably less powerful than the other characters.

I can see allowing you to apply any mythic abilities that affect summoned creatures to be applied to your eidolon. For example if you pick up the feat mythic augmented summoning I would allow it to apply to your eidolon. But you actually have to have the mythic ability for your eidolon to gain the benefit.
