Hello, i was hit by a vampire spawn. On the stat block is presented as follows
"Energy Drain (Su)
A creature hit by a vampire spawn’s slam (or other natural weapon) gains one negative level. This ability only triggers once per round, regardless of the number of attacks a vampire spawn makes."
there is also this from gamemastering --> special abilities:
"Energy Drain and Negative Levels:
Some spells and a number of undead creatures have the ability to drain away life and energy; this dreadful attack results in “negative levels.” These cause a character to take a number of penalties.
For each negative level a creature has, it takes a cumulative –1 penalty on all ability checks, attack rolls, combat maneuver checks, Combat Maneuver Defense, saving throws, and skill checks. In addition, the creature reduces its current and total hit points by 5 for each negative level it possesses. The creature is also treated as one level lower for the purpose of level-dependent variables (such as spellcasting) for each negative level possessed. Spellcasters do not lose any prepared spells or slots as a result of negative levels. If a creature’s negative levels equal or exceed its total Hit Dice, it dies.
A creature with temporary negative levels receives a new saving throw to remove the negative level each day. The DC of this save is the same as the effect that caused the negative levels."
and finally this from monsters rules:
Energy Drain (Su)*
This attack saps a living opponent’s vital energy and happens automatically when a melee or ranged attack hits. Each successful energy drain bestows one or more negative levels (the creature’s description specifies how many). If an attack that includes an energy drain scores a critical hit, it bestows twice the listed number of negative levels. Unless otherwise specified in the creature’s description, a draining creature gains 5 temporary hit points for each negative level it bestows on an opponent. These temporary hit points last for a maximum of 1 hour. Negative levels remain until 24 hours have passed or until they are removed with a spell such as restoration. If a negative level is not removed before 24 hours have passed, the affected creature must attempt a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 the draining creature’s racial HD + the draining creature’s Cha modifier; the exact DC is given in the creature’s descriptive text). On a success, the negative level goes away with no harm to the creature. On a failure, the negative level becomes permanent. A separate saving throw is required for each negative level.
So, are they permanent after 24 hours and a failed save or not?

Hi, im a level 8 wizard with a clockwork familiar (valet). The familiar section says that familiars class skills are climb, swim, stealth, fly and so on. The Valet archetype says the class skills are crafts, profecions and so on. Do they stack? Does a familiar increase in size because of the extra HD? what about skill points and feats as HD grows?
Hi, just like the title says, a want to buy a phisical copy of a pathfinder campaing setting oriented to horror, that includes one or more short adventures.
Anything like that? thanks.
Hi, i ask here because my other post is being ignored(¿?)
1) Hello, what is a good explanation of why, when destroying a cooling chamber, Liebgala gets a negative level?
2) How can i increse de CR of the lich shade for a party of 6 players levels 8/8/8/7/7/6?
3) Is there any guide i can read for adjusting the save DC of the molten pool in area F28? Will 15 seems too low, even for the danger it represents
4) i need better passwords and riddles for the areas F33-F36 because im sure my players don't know the answers to any of them, even with the library. i accept any ideas.
Thx.

Hi, my players are about to face Dargentu Vheed, Male lich shadow (tome of horror 3) inside the Nessian spiral in the Counsil of thieves campaing. The problems are two, first i dont know what kind of action is "heal" when the lich shade uses his spell leech ability (the other two are standar actions) because it dosen't look like a dificult foe if he has to use every turn he has to heal himself using that same ability, so i was thinking of making it free action. The second problem is i like to increse his CR because its a CR9 encounter with 8/8/8/7/7/6 level players. I think the Cr should go up and the easiest way is to add the advance template. Incresing the HD will do nothing because its alone and dosent have mañy skills, it dosent have level in anything and this seems to be the only good solution.
Whay do you think?

I have a problem, u see i just reached mythic tier and i was thinking my eidolon should have his own mithic path. I know what u are about to say, he is just a class feature, an animal companion dosent get anything, it will break the game, etc. But listen to this, the very first description from the summoner page says that the summoner and the eidolon will, with time, share a piece of soul. Thats the first argument for the mythic eidolon. Besides, the eidolon is so unique that u need to pick skills, feats, stats upgrades and even equipment for him alone giving him the rank of a player (which is compensated with the lack of power of the summoner). For the last argument, even if it only aplys to me, i received mythic rank when my eidolon sister found him, moving across planes for years, as a reincarnated creature that was condenated to live as one of the lesser creatures of that realm, an ancient king that had to live his life again. when the cepter was retrieved to him, he remembered his past and atained his full power. with this in mind, the eidolon is the mythic one, not me. So give me your opinion. Thx.
why i couldn't find it before? thank all of u.
Hi, i'm looking for a reincanate spell expanded list tath was online months ago, it contained al the races from the advance race, including sylph and a column that especified racial things that u win/lose after changing body. Thx.
PD its urgent, please respond

Hi again, im still mastering "council of thieves" and i have a problem with monster advancement. A new player recentlly join us (6 players now) and i have the task of tinker with every encounter to maintain the level of difficulty. They are about to enter the basement floor of Delvenhaven, where 3 vampires in separate rooms are waiting, each with character levels. Now, the advancement is no problem, but the gear it is. To be specific i have 3 monsters:
1) The mazeflesh man (vampire/fighter level 6, CR 7)
gear: +1 repeating heavy crossbow and a golembane scarab, totaling 10.850 GP
2)Vahnwynne Malkistra (vampire/ranger 4/rogue 2, CR 7)
gear: +1 leather armor, +1 wooden stakes (2), totaling 5.160 GP
3)Jair (Vampire Cleric of Norgorber 6, DC 7)
Gear: wand of inflict moderate wounds (38 charges), +1 chain shirt, +1 short sword, masterwork hand crossbow with 10 bolts (greenblood oil), Holi symbol, wayfinder, Totalling: 8.080 GP
The problem is that the bestiary says that a monster with class levels should have gear totalling a heroic NPC of the same level, considering i want to increase the CR to 8, that means going from 6.000 GP to 7.800 GP, see the problem? the 3 monsters are, way up or way down the gear they should. Any help? am i calculating something wrong? i dont have a problems giving them more gear, but the first one makes me doubt.
Im about to start mastering a new campaing, its Counsil of thieves. I gave my players a set of book for them to create their characters, and after deciding the campaing i added "Council of thieves player´s guide" and "Cheliax, Empire of devils" without cheking them.
After a few days and commnets of my players y realized that maybe those book give them too much information, for example, the ranger knows the favored terrains and enemyys that he should pick.
This bothers me more than it should, im a heavy antispoiler DM and player and im not sure if i should chance the campaing altogether. Commnets?
