Channeling with the zealot lv. 1

It seems to me that in the rules it states that I should be able to channel at level 1 with the channel energy talent. as it says I should be able to channel as per a cleric Lv.(-4, mininum 1). I'm using hero lab which I know is sometimes buggy and it says I don't get any channels. The talent doesn't have a level requirement. Should I be getting channels or no?

Yes, yes you should. If it was GOING to limit you that way, the talent would be min level 5.
