Aasimar Outsider

Rules Questions

I had a question in regards to the Aasamir with the Scion of Humanity alternate racial trait. Since they count as both Outsider(Native), and Humanoid(Human) for spells, effects, and prerequisites, are they immune to spells like Dominate Person and Charm Person and also when its convenient they can use Enlarge Person as long as they have Scion of Humanity?

No that's not how it works.

It open you up to spells like Dominate Person and Charm Person, but also Enlarge Person. Those spells are target humanoids (which outsiders are not) but you are adding the humanoid sub-type to your character with Scion of Humanity. Outsider aren't immune to those kind of spells (Enchantment) that just can't normally be targeted because they aren't humanoid. You've added the humanoid sub-type to your character.

Nope. Quite the opposite. You are now open to every single effect that can apply to the two subtypes. There is no selective offswitch- you are just weak to both.

Welcome to being a crossbreed. It comes with both the good and the bad of both sides.

Honestly, if you aren't doing weird stuff with human only feats, there is little reason to do this. Enlarge person is the only really common spell that you are missing out on, and it is generally worse than the more race agnostic long arm spell (which just gives the reach, and doesn't have the mixed bag of bonuses and penalties).
