Hello All-
This may be an obvious question, and apologize if it is.
If I became invisible and stepped away from an adjacent creature, would I have to make a Stealth check or, since it's such a minor action, are Stealth checks unneeded? I've played in quite a few games where the enemy went invisible and just 'wasn't in the same square anymore' without any perception checks made.
Also, I know moving is a +20 to Stealth and standing still is +40 but, if you are standing still, does drinking a potion counted as 'moving' or is it just traversing squares that meets that standard?
Thank you in Advance.

It is not that the 5-foot step is a special action (Pathfinder has no "minor" actions) that keeps the character in stealth. It is that the character never left concealment, because his concealment is his invisibility, nor took an action listed as one that breaks stealth, such as attacking.
However, when the opponent makes his opposed Perception check on the opponent's turn to find the invisible character, the invisible character gains only +20 to Stealth from invisibility, due to not standing still.
As for drinking a potion, it does not break stealth, but in my opinion (the rules are not firm here) drinking is also not standing still, because to me, "still" means no physical actions.

The newer printing of the Core rulebook adjusted Stealth. Just keep in mind that one needs to do a Stealth check at the beginning and the end of his turn in the round to stay in stealth. This is assuming your in cover and are able to hide. (Or are invisible)
