Equipment Purchase Prices Question

Rules Questions

We played our first Starfinder game this week and had a blast. However, we did have a problem with equipment pricing. We simply could not find them. None of us had the physical CRB in our possession so we were all using the PDF/Zip file to create our characters and equip them (The barnes and noble stores claimed to have the physical books at their locations but they lied, lol).

We were able to find pricing for the weapons, armor, batteries, and ammo easy enough but we could not find the prices for other things like comm units, hygiene kits, backpacks, etc. We found the items listed easy enough, but instead of an actual price listed there was only "Purchase DC". Is that Piazo's needless way of saying pricing in some kind of bid to be different or is there two separate equipment sections for some reason?

If anyone has an easy link to go to to find out prices for non weapon type things please post it here. Thank you.

Was your "PDF/ZIP file" the digital version of the Core Rulebook titled PZO7101e.pdf ? I don't think Paizo sells this through Barnes and Noble.

Starfinder doesn't use Purchase DCs. My copy has a Price for a hygiene kit.

I think it was something else.

Thank you. Yes, the link you posted is the same thing as what we have in PDF form but there is no price listed for items outside of weapons, ammo, and armor. The date listed in the PDF version is dated as I think either August or September 2017. Maybe the finalized version of the CRB came out right afterward and they included the prices? The only thing we have to go on as far as prices for non weapon items is "Purchase DC", which is in the version of the Starfinder CRB we have. I think maybe we were looking in the wrong section.

The Barnes and Nobles in our area does sell the Starfinder CRB and associated books. The gaming stores do too, as our GM tried to stop by and get one but the manager said they'd already sold out.

If you purchased the PDF through official channels (i.e. the Paizo store), if they "update" the PDF, the updated PDF will be available in your downloads. I am unaware of any update, however.

The other slim possibility I can think of is that you might have downloaded the One File per Chapter version of the Starfinder Corebook, and maybe the equipment is in a file you misplaced?

Last, the non-weapon, non-armor equipment sections can be hard to find if you're just paging thru the book. Technological items are (per the Table of Contents) on page 218, and other purchases on Page 230.

Yeah I think you were conned there are no purchase dcs anywhere in the real book

I'm AFB, but if I recall correctly, the prices for some things were listed as a table at the end of each section, rather than with each item description or the beginning of the section. I remember when reading through the book that it seemed backward, to me, especially since weapons and armor have the table at the front, but they were there.

In the meantime, if you can't find them in the book...

Other Equipment and Services:Do Ctrl-F "Table", there are 4-ish separate tables

The SRD has all the prices for other items categories well and they're all accurate, as far as I know.

Purchase DCs sound like something out of D20 modern (although it's been a long time since I looked at that)

Interestingly (or not), there doesn't appear to be the usual "first printing", "first edition" or even "printed" date in the pdf, just the copyright statement - so no mention of month, just year

The second (or third now?) printing might have it.

The pdf hasn't been updated since release.

There was a 'reprinted' marker of some sort added to the batch done as replacements for the binding problem, but nothing else has changed.

Actually, there is one place in the pdf where there's a date: in the bit with owners email and download date that's added to every page.

Were you guy beta testers or did you get access to that PDF from a beta tester?
