Change Wounderous Item Appearance

Rules Questions

Any way to change the permanent, non magical form or attributes of a Wounderous item? Not illusion, but actual, non-dispellable, actually different change?

Hard to look fabulous in a 'plain brown robe', etc.

Is it even RAW legal/ Cannon to make a functionally identical item, including slot, that just looks diffrent?

Ask your GM.

"Many factors must be considered when determining the price of new magic items. The easiest way to come up with a price is to compare the new item to an item that is already priced, using that price as a guide."

Nothing can possibly be closer than an item mechanically identical varying only in the fluff department...

For the most part I would allow this. The exceptions would be either special items that thematically tied in with a particular setting, where I might not allow it or something like robes of the archmagi where the particular look is distinctive and could be a drawback (no white robes attuned to evil alignment for example).

I certainly wouldn't require all robes of shocking to be violet and yellow though.

Was hoping maybe there was a spell or skill use squirreled away in a splatbook somewhere.
