"Stave Off Corruption" has a line where it states the smallest price of it's components is 25gp and which component is used for vampiric corruption. If we look up the component, it costs 1 silver to buya pound. Is it intentional to need 250 pound of component to cast the spell?

It doesn't say that you litterally need 25 gp-worth of garlic or wolfsbane, just that the total cost is about 25 gp. I'm sure the bulk of the cost is meant to consist of fancy oils and whatnot.
