Dhampir and Cloak of Human Guise

I have read all the posts I can find on the cloak, and find nothing saying that the cloak will not work for the Dhampir. It states half human and gives Half-elf and Half-orc as examples, but leaves open the possibility of other half races. As I agree that Asimar and Tieflings are native outsiders so this would not work for them, the Dhampir is a Humanoid with the Dhampir subtype. It doesn't fit the usual theme of Humanoid with dual subtypes including the Human subtype, but considering one of the ways they are created is being born from a human who had congress with a vampire, wouldn't they qualify due to that description?

Just looking for thoughts, I think I know how my local GMs would rule on this, but getting a stronger feel or actual ruling on this would make me feel more at ease.

I wouldn't think it'd work, as Dhampirs aren't "half-human".

That being said, I'll go ahead and flag this to get moved over to the Rules Questions Forum so it can best garner the attention and discussion it deserves.

I don't see a mechanical definition of "half-human" by subtype (or, for that matter, by type) in the item text, so it should work by a narrative or lore-based reading. For the same reason, you'd be in danger of a GM disagreeing and refusing its use.

Dhampirs being humanoids with the dhampir subtype and not mechanically half-breeds, the GM would be within rights to say no even if it would be common sense.

I think the easiest way to rule it would be if the half-race is eligible to take human options [Traits, Feats, etc], then it should work for them. So yes for half-elf and half-orc, but no for races like Dhampir or Aasimar that aren't allowed to take human options.

I'm with The Only Star. Scion of Humanity for Aasimar or Nearly Human for the genie-kin (Oread, Sylph, Ifrit, Undine) would qualify those races for me.
