When do we get charged? I placed an order a week ago, and its still pending. I have read from other questions and responses that the pending status doesn't change in and of itself until the products actually ship... is that when our cards get charged?
If so, this system kind of sucks for someone like me who is on a tight budget who is also used to online charging systems that will charge your card automatically upon an order going through so if it is a system where our cards get charged when the product gets mailed out then its quite an archaic and frustrating system. Not having my account updated when I make charges so I can keep track of things is an additional frustration I don't really care for.
So, when will my card get charged?
I don't think my order itself matters but if it does help then my order number is Order 4491635.

They authorize the card when you place the order, but do not actually charge it until the product ships. This can be seen from this FaQ. It prevents you from getting charged for something that they do not physically have in the warehouse yet, and then having the distributor saying "Oops, we miscounted, that's actually not available" and angering you for them taking money for a product they can't give you and make them refund you.

Hello Stacie.Wonters1,
Cpt_kirstov is correct, we do not charge for anything until it ships out.
In this case you ordered an item we have to get from a distributor or manufacturer when an order is placed for it. These items will show a longer ship out time on the availability portion of their product page. For instance, Spheres of Power says, "Ships from our warehouse in 14 to 28 business days." That is our estimate for how long it may take to get to us from the supplier.
Cpt_kirstov is also correct in that we don't charge for an item right away because we don't want to charge you for something we don't have. We have requested the book from the supplier but we want to make sure we are able to get it, that it arrives, and that it is not damaged in transit before we charge you for it.
