Sword Canes

Rules Questions

If my character uses the cane part of a sword cane as an improvised weapon, should I treat it as a quarterstaff or a club?

Depends on the cane, but a quarterstaff is awfully long for a cane. Ask your GM (unless that's me, because I'll say club).

The sword cane itself is a 1-handed weapon, so it seems really unlikely that it would be hidden inside something "about five feet in length." And it can be drawn as a swift action, which implies more of "push button, disguise drops off" than "reach up to top of staff, pull long-ish blade out."

Plus, the combat scabbard exists. It's a holder for a one-handed blade that, when used in combat, deals the same damage as a club.

I would lean heavily towards the "club" stance, personally.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know about the combat scabbard.
